Abstract Because of the high airtightness and insulation of the building, indoor environment has been largely polluted resulted from insufficient ventilation and occurrence of new air pollutant. These factors have made worse indoor air quality and caused symptoms of the SBS (Sick Building Syndrome), BRI(Building Related Illness), SHS(Sick Home Syndrome). Therefore, it is needed to evaluate and control indoor pollutants quantitatively considering influence on indoor air environment. Related to this, countermeasures for ensuring of the healthy and comfortable indoor air quality are required through indicating criteria in application materials.
This study analyzed materials used in livingroom through measuring ventilation performance and TVOC, HCHO of apartment housing and evaluated IAQ by material application using CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics), made suggestions on ways to improve the existing problems. The purpose of this study is to support decision making in building finishing materials to get optimum air environment in early stage of designing of apartment housing.
