Abstract |
The technology of glued laminated timber permits the production and use of structural elements according to various shapes and long spans. In fact, many sport buildings are now built using this material. Another benefit of glued laminated timber is the high control of material during fabrication, which permits the elimination of any part of the timber boards. It is necessary to develop and verify a new structural system to achieve a medium rise building using wooden structure. This research deals with glued laminated timber-based composite members, which consist of glued laminated timber and H section steel. This paper performed T shaped beam tests to investigate the structural behaviors under cyclic loading. The main parameters are types of glued laminated timber(9S-27B, 10S-30B, 12S-33B) and inserting length(300, 400mm). Also, the classical wooden joint with bolts and steel plate and joint using rectangular section steel (9S-P250-0) are tested for the comparison with suggested specimens. The results of the experiment show that suggested specimens was characterized by fairly good structural behaviors than those of the classical wooden joints. |
