| Abstract |
This study proposes a design method for flexible housing unit using the plan fabric. The theory adopted for variations of plan fabric is the SAR 65 proposed by Habraken. This paper presents the concept of zone-sector for open housing. This study describes the design process to produce flexible housing unit fabric based on the zone-sector types. The variations of plan fabric are made in the level of zone-sector and the level of unit space cell. The design method for variations of plan fabric in this study deals with producing various unit plans. Finally, this paper concludes with strong potential of unit fabric leading to various floor plans according to changing life styles. |
