Abstract The objective of this study is to develop an operation model for a double-skin facade which suggests operation modes and sequences for energy conservation and user comfort.?The operation model of the double-skin facade differs according to the type of the double-skin facade, the environmental conditions in each building, and the depth and usage of the room to which the double-skin facade is applied.?So, the process of developing the operation model of the double-skin facade is established first, and then the operation model of the double-skin facade is developed by application to the base zone.?Therefore, in this study, the process is established to develop the operation model of the double-skin facade, and it is applied to the electric information room located on the 3rd floor of I cultural center library building in Goyang to specifically describe the result of each phase.?Finally, the operation model of the double-skin facade is developed for the electric information room. The development process of the operation model consists of three steps. In the first stage, the zone for the operation is selected, the controlled variables are extracted, and the operation goals are established accordingly.??In the second stage, the controlled variables are extracted, and the operation strategy of the control variables is established to satisfy the operation goals. Finally, in the third stage, the precedence of each operation strategies is determined, and the operation model is developed.
