Abstract This paper is provided preliminary data to decide the proper roof shape and direction and to heating and cooling load in a plan step. The reference classroom air temperature in B middle school is located at 10 degree south and west is showed that the top floor is higher about 3℃ than the first floor in summer. Because the air temperature difference between the top floor and first floor is happened by the direct solar radiation and storage components of floor and rooftop. But in winter because the convection current is caused by wind speed is bigger than solar radiation. As the convectional heat loss ,which is caused by temperature difference between surface temperature and outdoor air temperature, of rooftop is larger than vertical external wall, this state is reversed. The surface of external wall using the Infra Thermal Imager in B middle school and A primary school have surface temperature distribution 34℃~42℃ and 34℃~39℃ at 15:00 in summer respectively. The investigation on the heating and cooling load of top floor and first floor were performed by DOE-2.1E as a energy analysis program.
