Abstract Along with economic development, the rapid increase of number of cars in apartment complexes brings about the shortage of parking space. Due to the problem of parking space, old apartment complexes are destructed to rebuild them. It has created the waste of resources. Therefore, remodeling of old apartment complexes becomes better way to solve the problem. In remodeling old parking space, several elements are considered such as expanding the space of each apartment, modernizing the equipment, reinforcing the building structure, and expanding the parking space. Among them, this study focuses on the expansion of parking space. This study classifies and systemizes influential factors such as economic, planning, technical, and environmental factor. These factors were generated through interviews with experts. Some expanding models are applied to various apartment complexes, and then the models are assessed to find out the best alternative model for expanding parking space. In the end, the best model is selected through AHP method. In effect, this study develops a procedure model for the selection of parking lot expansion.
