| Abstract |
Aging is unprecedented in its speed. Also it is urgent to prepare for the aged society because the social atmosphere such as rapid aging, the trend toward the nuclear family and small number of children is different from that of advanced countries which has prepared for its aging for a long time.
The old have a tendency to keep living in their present residential space and to be satisfied vicariously with young people's active and brisk figures. Accordingly, it is required to conduct a research on their life including health condition, accident pattern inside houses, satisfaction with apartment, community, etc. with the old living in apartment.
A survey and a analysis were used as research methods and the subjects of the study were limited to the old over 65 years old. And the research results were analyzed by frequency analysis, cross-tab analysis, runs test, regression analysis and chi-square analysis.
The analyzed conclusions are as followed
? The frequency and time period of going-out decline as aging proceed.
? Older people experience more accidents inside their own house.
? They need upgraded floor material, height difference on the floor and assistant handle as the improvement measures inside house.
? For annexed facilities and the improvement measures in apartment complex, it was found that they require a new establishment of daytime care center for the old
? Cultural lectures are needed for old people to spend more pleasant times than other community centers for elders. |
