| Abstract |
The study has analysed the levels of the existing apartment housing according to the green building performance criteria and identified the elements which can be factored for the enhancement of the green building performances. Followingly, the study has made a few suggestions in order to promote the apartment housing policies, which are supposedly to result in the long term adoption of the apartment housing in the future.
In the upshot, the study concludes as follows. Firstly, The level of the green building performance of the existing apartment is relatively low. Secondly, the fixed elements of the existing apartment housing are meeting the green building performance criteria to the higher degree, while the variable elements, to the lower degree. Therefore, it is construed that any effort to improve the environmental quality of the existing apartment housing in the future is prone to secure the higher degree of the green building performance. Thirdly, The study has listed the priority of the green building performance elements. Fourthly, The study has raised a need to modify and renovate the green building certification program. |
