Abstract The architectural colleges in USA already have been executed and practiced their contents of design education accordance with the national accreditation standards from the past century. Hence all the curriculum systems and the composition of design education courses are focused on the directions to satisfy condition and suitabilities of architect's examination criteria presented by the NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Board).
This study is to investigate and analyze the design education system factors of architectural colleges in USA which underlie fact that they have displayed with an advanced architectural education system throughout the past many decades. The methods of analyzation are first, a selection of the institution which affiliated with the NCARB recommendations of design education. Secondly, composition of the classification code data to apply on the standards of analytical factors. Thirdly, analyze each courses annual study hours of the classes, propensity of design studio theme, and overall classification of the design course programs. Finally, based on all the analyzed factors of each process of investigations, the study elicit the interrelated factors to conclude its consequence of the design education characteristics.
Thru the investigation and the analyzed factors, the study elicit that all the course classification and an annual length of the course hours, and the design studio types are indeed interrelated with a curriculum purpose. The factors can be realized to effect on the establishments of course. However, this result evidently supports to prove that every and each institution has composed to perform and characterize design education system accordance with a individual institutional interest and to promote a particular educational target.
