Abstract |
Courtesy scholars' houses in Daejeon and Nonsan have been investigated searching for characteristics of design order based on Ga-Rea-Gyp-Ram(Family Courtesy Guide). Nine cases of Kims', Songs', and Yoons' houses were analyzed. These results are as followings. (1) Layout of houses always keep the rule of front orientation, shrine allocation in the east, front for official back for private. (2) Floor plan of houses usually comply to the gate and Madang system, symmetrical axis, and separation into single family. Special features are these. (3) Shrine allocated in the high and deep area as well as in the east. (4) Sarangchae and Anchae seemed to be composed to symmetry according to axis such as shrine and Jeongsa. (5) Separation into single family presented in Sarangchae and Jeongsa for man only. Scholars lived in Daejeon area seventeenth century Yi Dynasty, accepted the housing design order of Ga-Rea-Gyp-Ram, and tried to apply it to their real world by practical and reasonable design. |
