Abstract To evaluate the inside temperature changes of a repair part under the outside environmental temperature through the numerical analysis method such as FEM, the specific heat is requisite input data. The specific heat of polymer cement mortar which is usually adopted as patch repair materials was measured by Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC). The specific heat of polymer cement mortar is lower than polymer resins themselves due to the changes of hydration rate and moisture content. Using the heat characteristic and mechanical property of PCM(Polymer Modified Cement Mortar), two-dimensional FEM analysis was attempted to estimate the effects of properties of PCM to decide the stress evolution at interface, repair materials or substrate. The termal stress calculated by numerical analysis is not enough to initiate the crack. The temperature repetition of everyday develops into fatigue stress which might be a main cause of the crack development in the repaired members.
