| Abstract |
Collection and practical use of historical data are important factors in construction company because this industry is one of the knowledge based industry using historical technical engineering and construction information as well as human experiences from each project. The purpose of this study was to enhance the collection of historical data in construction project and review the possibility of 6 sigma introduction. DMAIC (Design, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology was used to derive improvement plan. The results of this study were as follows; Accumulation rate of project historical data was improved from 71.4%, 2.06σ to 97.2%, 3.42σ. To increase the level of historical information management in construction company, the process of standardization, procedures, and information management system, must be established. Also, it is necessary that 6 sigma apply for the competitiveness of construction industry and development of suitable 6 sigma methodology is required in construction industry. |
