Abstract With the opening of the Korean Architectural Design Market, the curriculum in universities is changing to fit the regulations of KAAB(Korean Architectural Accrediting Board). However, college curriculum is not particularly concerned about these changes. To this end, it is the purpose of this paper to examine the educational direction of architectural design curriculum in college. The result of this study can be summarized as follows: First, an advanced course started in 1998 but was not successful because many college graduates want to get a bachelor’s degree. They preferred an institution for continuing education or "edubank". Second, there is no academic credit bank system for the architectural design department, therefore many college graduates who majored in design have to enter into the architectural engineering stream. Third, to analyze the problems of college curriculum, UNESCO-UIA, NAAB, and RIBA standards for accreditation are used and KAAB standards are prepared for 6 colleges curriculum. Lastly, ideas gleaned from surveys conducted on various students, graduates, and currently practicing architects with regards to education and the management direction in Architectural Design for an advanced course will be presented.
