Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to analyze the terrestrial magnetism in Sam-Yo‘s traditional Korean houses in the Chungbuk province. Sam-Yo, meaning "the Three Element of the Houses" elaborates on the oriental interrelations among the three parts; the Gate(門), the Principal Room(主) and the Kitchen(?). As a results, when analyzing the living relations of Sam-Yo, it was found that Sam-Yo has an application to the Yang-Tak theory of functional relationships. Seosatak(西四宅) was recorded above in the horizontal component(H) and the total field of Earth's field, and Dongsatak(東四宅) was recorded above in the vertical component(V). Also the magnetic test results are analyzed by the horizontal component(H) within 295~307m Gauss, the vertical component(V) within 393~402m Gauss and the total field within 491~506m Gauss of Earth's field in magnetic data. Therefore, the Sam-Yo's of Chungbuk province have a great influence on the occupant and must be considered significant to the magnetic field in housing environments. |
