Abstract |
To summarize the historic flow of the study about the site layout of traditional Buddhist temple, it can be specified that the morphological/formal factor weighs less and less with the historic flow of the study, and that it is significant to study it in the way to minimize the weight of the morphological/formal factor. This study focuses on the historic flow above. That is to say, it is possible to interpret the site layout itself excluding the morphological/formal factor in the study about the site layout of traditional Buddhist temple, and the topological factor of the site layout of the temple enables it. This study aims to analyze the site layout of traditional Buddhist temple in terms of topology, and to compare the social/religious interpretation of the result with the existing study by the historic approach about the Buddhist ideology. The range of this study is basically the same as that of the study of Yang S.H.. And This study utilizes Space Syntax technique to analyze the topological relation of the site layout of temple. the detailed process of the analysis is as such; First, to draw convex maps of the temples for analysis. Second, to extract the J-graphs from them. Third, to extract the several genotypes from those J-graphs. Fourth, to specify the social/religious meaning of the genotypes. Finally, to compare the result with that of the existing study by the historic approach about the Buddhist ideology. |
