Abstract This paper presents experiment results of emission rates of VOCs and aldehydes emitted from a full-size test specimen such as personal computers, monitors and a closet used in home and office using the large test chamber(19.7m3). And we introduced how to measure mass transfer coefficient of a full-size test specimen in the large test chamber using the experiment. When the air exchange rate are 0.5h-1 and 1h-1, the background concentrations within large test chamber are below 5 and 5μg/m3 for formaldehyde, 10 and 5μg/m3 for toluene, 25 and 13μg/m3 for TVOC at 28℃. An amount of VOCs and aldehydes released from personal computers and monitors are constantly emitted under operating because superficial temperature of electrical appliances rises. It is necessary to develop measurement test method for SVOCs that is included plastics of electrical appliances and can not be detected this large test chamber method.
