Abstract |
Post-tensioned flat plate systems have been used as a gravity load resisting systems in buildings. However, this system should be subjected to gravity loads combined with lateral displacement-induced unbalanced moments due to lateral forces such as winds and earthquakes. In this paper, a series of given specimens are tested under combined gravity and lateral loads as the testing specimens represent interior slab-column connections with post-tensioned flat plate. In the five tests, the amounts of the prestressed and the nonprestressed reinforcements were changed. Test variables of this experimental study are fpc(average compressive stress in concrete due to effective prestress force only) of 1.15MPα, 1.68MPα and ρb(ratio of bottom re-bar) of 0%, 0.06%, 0.1%. The objective of this paper is to estimate structural performance of interior slab-column connections with prestressed slabs based on fpc and ρb. The results of the experimental program showed that the lower fpc indicates a more effective performance on hysteretic behavior of prestressed slab. |
