Abstract This study was made by analyzing 4 university dormitories in Gwangju. This study drew problems through color and physical analysis on color of spatial structure elements by interior space, and psychological assessment on important color images drawn from each space, and explore the methods for improving color design of indoor environment in university dormitory. The results suggest that interior space color in living space needed interior color scheme using contrast or complementary color harmony which is dynamic image rather than similar color scheme which is stable according to user's taste, and lounge and robby should use a similar color scheme of warm, middle, and desaturated color which reflects spatial characteristics for better effectiveness. Fitness rooms, private libraries, and computer rooms should use a soft color image of warm, middle, and desaturated color rather than a simple color scheme which concerns equipment and furniture color and spatial characteristics.
