Abstract |
Regarding durability of concrete, it is important to predict the state of moisture in concrete which is influenced by outside environment. Various deteriorations in reinforced concrete structures have been caused by moisture movement which is governed mass transfer property of concrete. Moreover, the moisture movement and the reaction velocity of deterioration agent are also influenced by the state of moisture in the concrete. Crack in concrete makes the deterioration agent to easily penetrate into the concrete and causes the reduction of durability of concrete structures. The purpose of this study is to make clear the effect of change in the outside environmental conditions, i.e. temperature and relative humidity, on the moisture distribution inside the concrete by experimental investigation using electrodes and relative humidity sensors embedded in the inner part of concrete. And the moisture distribution is also compared between the concrete with crack and concrete without crack. The result is as follow; 1) As it is close to surface of concrete, the diurnal change of relative moisture content distribution in concrete was rapidly decreased, regardless specimen. 2) The variation of water distribution in concrete by change of outside temperature and relative humidity is affected at the outer layer. 3) As the crack is wide, it affects that the drying goes a little bit fast. |
