Abstract The purpose of the present study is objective examination of the current state and problems of feasibility studies through the review and analysis of evaluation criteria in previous researches on feasibility tests. That is, we reviewed data accumulated by previous researchers, drew ‘highly emphasized criteria’ and ‘less emphasized ones,’ and identified problems through the classification and objective analysis of evaluation criteria in the first study, which is preliminary, and the second one, which is main. According to the results, in most of previous studies, analysis was focused on suppliers’ position and practical economic efficiency (the maximization of ‘ profitability and marketability) rather than on general evaluation reflecting suppliers’ (developers) wants and consumers' (users) needs separately. Based on the problems, we suggested two alternatives and topics to be studied in the future. However, these suggestions are only to lay the ground for future research, which should be conducted based on the results of this research as the first stage, aiming at the establishment of objective evaluation criteria and the development of general evaluation methods as the second stage.
