| Abstract |
This study is for finding out the material and fabricational characteristics shown through the architecture and change process of Kyongsang-namdo provincial office building in 1924.After the completion in 1924, the build had been extended and fixed up several times. In September 2002, the building was designated as an important cultural property No. 41(Registered Cultural Properties) and some parts of the building was removed. Now, the repair work is going on.Method of this study was attained on the basis of the existing data like drawings and literatures and the field study. Especially, the investigation of literatures was achieved on the basis of the drawings which had been drawn at that time when the building constructed and pictures on it. Detail was drawn by survey on its site. The material characteristics were discovered in the brick, stone, wood and material of roof forming the building. And the fabricational characteristics of Kyongsang-namdo provincial office building, made of brick, were discovered in the foundation, retaining wall and truss. This study will be able to be used as basic data on The Early 20th Century public office architecture in Korea. |
