Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze the unbalanced moment strength of flat plate connections with rectangular column support. Based on the experimental database, an evaluation on the analysis models such as eccentric shear stress model of ACI 318-05 and EC 2-04, theoretical yield line analysis, strut-tie model, and numerical models was performed in the present study. The experimental database was selected to the interior flat plate connections with rectangular column support in the literature such as Hanson and Hanson(1968), Hawkins et al.(1989), Farhey et al.(1993), DY Kim(1995), Hwang and Moehle(2000), and MS Choi(2007). The theoretical and numerical analysis results were compared and evaluated with this experimental database on the peak unbalanced moment strength.
