Abstract The purpose of this study is to furnish useful information for construction companies, by evaluating the marketability and priority order in developing the construction technologies for environment-friendly apartment houses, through a survey of the experts regarding environment-friendly construction technologies. In order to evaluate the priority order, this study established 6 criteria such as market size, growth possibility, profitability, urgency, technological possibility, and public needs, which are generally used in evaluating a new emerging market. According to the results to evaluate the 39 environment-friendly technologies for sustainable apartment houses on a 5-point scale, environment-friendly building materials (3.68), sound-proof system between floors (3.59), natural paint (3.52), high insulated and airtight system (3.50), and high-performance window system (3.42) received relatively higher evaluation marks. That is, it is evaluated that the demand for technologies related to eco-construction is higher than energy saving technologies. Though rainwater reusing technology, waste water reusing technology, eco-corridor, and fuel cell technology should be developed urgently, but those technologies' growth rate are very low. Therefore the government's legal support is necessary to be widely applied those technologies in constructing apartment houses. The technologies for eco-corridor, roof garden, wind power generation, porous pavement, and biological septic tank have high public needs, but low profitability, therefore should be developed in public sector.
