Abstract As infrastructures are being deteriorated, non-destructive evaluation of existing structures and construction quality control are increasingly demanded in the construction industry. This research is focused on predicting concrete compressive strength and flaw detection of concrete slab using Impact Echo (IE) method and Spectral Analysis of Surface Wave(SASW) method, which are one of the Non-destructive Test (NDT) methods. The method for predicting the strength and the position of rebars of reinforced concrete slabs and detecting void of reinforced concrete slab are derived from the relationship between compressive strength and stress wave velocity. Furthermore, the evaluation of reliability is performed by applying the NDT methods to reinforced concrete structures through mock-up test. Predicting compressive strength based on stress wave velocity leads to the results of error 12 % in compressive wave velocity and 4.2 % in surface wave velocity. Detecting flaws of concrete using IE method leads to the result of an average error within 3 %.
