Abstract The central area of cities have been developed by integrating various functions of facilities in a building. As results, vertically, super high rise buildings have been constructed and, horizontally, indoor streets that can be observed outdoor have been appeared. Those make hard to analyse the movement of users, control air conditions and manage the hazardous situations. In addition, the integrated management of indoor and outdoor space is necessary because integrated buildings are gathered in the specific area. This research is a part of project to develop spatial information management systems by means of merging GIS(Geometric Information Systems) that have produced practical results in the filed of external space management and 3 dimensional CAD that have been widely accepted as am efficient tool for expressing architectural space. This paper presents a fundamental part of the research: the concept of object-oriented space definition and process to produce it using 3D CAD.
