| Abstract |
The paper aims to make a comparative examination of architectural design thinking process and behavior characteristics by a Korean architect and an American architect through observation-protocol analysis. Observation is one of the best methods in experimental researches in natural science. And the observation-protocol analysis in this study is applied to a Korean architect and an American architect in actual experiments, respectively. This study is developed on the basis of the theories of the architecture design nature which can explain the architectural design thinking and behavior characteristics in the architectural design. Extensive protocols through the actual observation experiments by two architects are recorded. These findings will help understand the architectural design nature. But in order to deeply understand the architectural design nature, it is necessary for the protocol analysis methods to be developed more elaborately. |
