Abstract |
Eui-Gwae is an old report in Joseon Dynasty and many books remain. They retain many clues about traditional korean palaces. The purpose of this study is to find some typical composition of palace building forms by analyzing the old construction repots.The results is as follows; There are normative forms and their transformations. Normative forms are caused by rule or standard.Forms for royal ceremony buildings are composed by complete rules. Royal ceremony building has a symbolic meaning of each palace in Joseon dynasty as confucianism polity. Normative forms are expressed by completely rules in all parts of building reached from facade to furniture.In many building forms for king and queen, we can see rule and metamorphosis at the same time. Ridges of the roofs are bent top form, and it is an applicable rule for buildings for king and queen as normative form. But parts of base have variety forms.On the other hand, we can see some normative forms by standard not rules in each palaces. |
