Abstract |
Land development in the downtown area, redevelopment of the existing residential district and development and provision of satellite and new cities for solving the problems have revealed limitations owing to lack of land, infrastructures and housing for accepting the population in the downtown area. Based on the domestic and foreign case studies in which the three-dimensional development of subway and railway depots were attempted, this study aimed at analyzing and presenting the development types for the three-dimensional space in artificial land and the institutional improvement and direction for subway depots(Gunja, Jichuk, Suseo and Changdong) among the railway facilities in urban planning facilities. According to the analysis of environment of location and the results from analyzing project feasibility, the developing concept of Gunja, Jichuk, Suseo and Changdong Subway Depots was established and the necessity of developing them was investigated. The study indicated that each Depot has excellent existing environment of location, but has backward regional environment and a tendency to a downtown island because of surrounding undeveloped area Further the findings implied that it requires a plan for developing it in a recycling and three-dimensional way by using regional potential through improving the environment and developing backward area by attracting such mixed-use facilities as housing, retail, business, and cultural. |
