Abstract |
This study aims to review the revitalization methods of shopping area for commercial recovery in new downtown, and to suggest some lessons under consideration of the Korean situation of commercial function. For the study, the planning which have being planned related to shopping area revitalization of the Tanbangdong, Daejeon Metropolitan City are analyzed. The contents of this study are consisted of following four sections. In the first section, the characteristics of shopping area and the relationship of new downtown revitalization and commercial reinvigoration are reviewed as a theoretical review. In the second section, the basic framework for the research based on the theoretical review are studied. In the third section, as a field survey, the current problems of shopping areas and revitalization methods focused on the aspect of institutions, commercial facilities and management are analyzed. As a conclusion, the revitalization strategies of the deteriorated shopping areas in new downtown are organized and the planning directions in the future are suggested. |
