Abstract This study is to formulate the planning conditions for inner-plaza atriums to contribute to a creation of urban public space. Using patterns as urban public space were defined through the survey of using condition by staying users which is deeply concerned to essential quality of use in inner-plaza atriums. Moreover, design conditions for the atriums to be used as urban public space were identified through multiple regression analysis for the number of staying users, density of staying users, percentage of general visitors in staying users. Use for staying space indices were examined by design factors such as the situation of connection to station and building scale.
