| Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to suggest the color scheme of bathroom which is more easily discernable for the elderly while it maintains the similar mood. Criteria for analysis of color scheme was developed based on the results of existing literature on the color perception of the elderly, and the discernabilities and image scales of color schemes of bathroom in seventeen model apartment houses were analyzed using the criteria.The most frequently used colors in the bathroom were the hues of Y, YR, high value and low chroma with Vp, Lgr tone and white, and these color schemes were considered to be difficult to discern for the elderly who is suffering yellowed eye sight. Therefore, this study suggests the color scheme which is more easily discernable for the elderly who is suffering yellowed eye sight while it maintains the similar color image scale. |
