Abstract |
We have many difficulties in evaluating efficiently the structural behavior of stone pagoda because of the particular mechanical characteristics of the discontinuum structures such as masonry stone pagodas. To this end, the discontinuum modelling and discrete element analysis technique are needed for the structural safety evaluation of these structures in preserving and restoring the historical stone pagodas. Therefore, to evaluate the structural characteristics and safety of stone pagoda considering the reinforcement types of stylobate and roof stone, we select the stone pagoda in Gameunsa temple site as the typical model, and analyzes this structural model through the discontinuum modelling and analytical method under several design variables. |
