| Abstract |
The modern has been the aged society. As the elderly has increased rapidly in Korea, there are needs of appropriate residential buildings for them. But the elderly residential institution which has been a typical residential building for the elderly in Korea is recognized negatively as poor residential environment. In order to activate residential institutions for the elderly as a residential type, it is necessary to ensure a residential environment of an appropriate level In this study, we first analyzed conditions of the convenient facilities and utilizations in order to set up the design guidelines of residential institutions for the elderly later on. We aimed at the institutions for free or actual expense which were built since 2000 and surveyed as making checklist out, analyzing a plan and interviewing with managers. Based on the survey, we suggested considerations in planning the residential institutions for the elderly. |
