Abstract |
The aim of this study is to analyze the self containment factors derived from newtown of capital and non-capital region. The self containment factors are economy, infrastructure, built environment and natural environment. The data for this research are obtained by National Statistical Office web-site concerning self containment factors focused on spatial disparity between capital and non-capital newtown. For this, the discriminant analytical method is employed as empirical analysis. Overall results of this study show that the variables that represent self containment factors of new town' spatial difference are rate of sewage supply, area of openspace, etc. In other words, in case of capital newtown compared to non-capital newtown, the factors of self-containment target on such the infrastructure as sewage supply rate, area of openspace, and so on. On the other hand, compared to self containment factors of capital newtown, non-capital newtown focuses on built environment factor, such as housing supply rate. We conclude from this study that the policy of newtown development will be considered in accordance with the spatial disparity. Also, this study found that new town' self containment will be achieved from the harmony of self containment factors and the results will be helpful to policy makers and urban planners when establishing and designing newtown in the future. |
