Abstract |
The interpretation of architecture can be dealt with consistently upon a definite standard of value. Recently, pluralistic value and holistic paradigm of modern philosophy induce the conversion of form and space of contemporary architecture with reformed attitude of indeterminate knowledge. At the same time, we can take notice of the pluralistic and holistic view as a main theme in Eastern thoughts, which has some parallel understanding with modern philosophy. The concept of wholistic interaction(Chongsang,總相) in Eastern buddhist philosophy can be considered as a pluralistic and holistic concepts in Eastern thought. With this study, we will propose conceptual model of architectural understanding from the concept of wholistic interaction(Chongsang,總相) and interpret the transition of architectural value system of Western architecture based on this model. |
