Abstract The purpose of this research is to analyze the publicity of the private open space of high-rise office buildings in seoul. The contents of this research consist of two main parts. The first part is to classify the site planning patterns of the private open space of high-rise office buildings into four types through the case study of samples at teheranno street in seoul. The second part is to analyze the correlations between the user's satisfaction and these types of the private open space. In conclusion, the user's satisfaction of the private open space is influenced by the location, the mixing pattern with buildings, and the size of the open space in high-rise office buildings. This research will contribute to establish the planning methods of the private open space of high-rise office buildings and to promote the quality of urban residential environment in Korea.
