Abstract Although new types of accidents have increased in public geo-space facilities from Daegu Subway Train Arson case through Jong-Gak Poisonous Gas Leak case, in-depth performance reviews on disaster protection codes have not taken until now. This thesis provides comprehensive evaluation on disaster protection code adapted in public geo-space facilities by each risk factor, e.g., self-rescue, smoke, poisonous gas and indoor air pollution. A comparison evaluation method was used on the basis of disaster protection performance level between domestic code and global code, therefore comparison reviews are focused on main risk factors. As the evaluation result, our government should continue to boost its disaster protection performance level due to insufficiency of domestic code over global code. This low level might lead to suffer large casualties in the public geo-space facility. Eventually new merged code for disaster protection performance should be developed in a short period of time in order to substantial level of goal that will pursue zero-base casualties in public geo-space facilities in case of fires and poisonous gas contamination.
