Abstract |
Buckling-Restrained Braces(BRB) is designed to prevent buckling of core when a great amount of a compression force is placed on the brace and make large inelastic deformation. In this study, a sub-assembly test has been conducted by using Buckling-Restrained Braces, which are known as good performance from the previous uni-axial experiments. BRB were diagonally installed in the frame and designed which vary the type of connections and the existence of infilled concrete. The frame was enforced horizontally by an actuator with the loading protocol recommended by the AISC. The test results showed that the compression capacity of BRB infilled concrete was raised about 10% on BRB without infilled concrete and all specimens showed the similar performance in the aspect of total energy dissipation and cumulative plastic ductility. |
