Abstract |
This study aims to develop washing method system to produce quality recycled fine aggregate in order to reduce environmental load caused by waste concrete, which accounts for most construction waste, and fundamentally resolve the problem of imbalance between supply and demand of fine aggregate in construction industry. According to the evaluation on the quality of each recycled fine aggregate produced from different quality of mixed construction waste, the quality of most recycled fine aggregate exceeded the domestic standard(KS F 2573). It means successful development of the washing method system to effectively produce recycled fine aggregate whose quality is similar to natural fine aggregate used for reinforced concrete. However, the recycled fine aggregate based on washing method does not meet the overseas reinforced concrete quality standard(JIS A 5021-H) in terms of absolute dry density and absorption rate, making it unsuitable to replace natural fine aggregate. Therefore, it is imperative to develop the technology to get rid of mortar on the recycled fine aggregate in order to meet the standard of JIS A 5021-H. In addition, developing technology to improve productivity is a prerequisite for a wide use of the washing method system developed in this study. |
