Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to suggest a sort of direction as for the welfare facilities for the aged, ready for the long-term care insurance policy for the elderly, which will come into operation in the near future. In particular, this study focused on analyzing small-sized life-unit type welfare facilities for the aged, named the new-model of welfare facilities for the aged(caring welfare facilities for the aged), as part of Japanese representative welfare facilities for the aged. The 10 facilities which located in Osaka and Kyoto in Japan were surveyed and analyzed. The spatial composition and the properties of program were studied along with the long-term care insurance policy for senior citizens in the future. The results of the study were following: The space of facility consists of private unit space and public common space, i. e. kitchen and livingroom. In each phase from private room to unit, nearby common space and the whole public space, this sequential space composition has continuity and hierarchy, which deeply affects total planning for the facility. |
