Abstract |
Contemporary architecture has been expressed dynamic and immaterial image. But it is exposed the spatial problem. Space is prescribed by mass. However, dynamic and immateriality removes the materiality in architecture. The consequence removes mass form architecture. Such circumstance has us think over the relation of mass and space. Since mass removes from architecture, space could not prescribed by mass. Now the new concept of space is required. That is the space determined by the dynamic. In the paper, we present the alternative as ‘the material space’, that expressing the materiality and space relations simultaneously. According to Bergson, it is possible that a dynamic expression in architecture actualize the real movements. The material space overcomes the bisected concept of mass and space, and is the novel expression appropriate for dynamic in architecture. |
