Abstract |
The people and buildings keep spending energy and water, and it makes excessive environmental problems. Therefore the aim of this study is to develop the model and system design strategies for sustainable housing. Objectives for sustainable housing are first established, and component technologies are then integrated for developing models, which will be evaluated through a pilot project in terms of sustainability, energy/CO2, comfort/health, cost/value. In this research, mechanical system aspects of design criteria were analyzed by quantitative data, surveyed case study of 130 multi-family buildings certificated green building rating system in Korea and acquired by questionnaire survey to evaluate the senior engineers' perception regarding eco-system ideas. And this paper provides the best configurations and design criteria of mechanical systems for sustainable housing and equipment options. Mechanical system design considerations for sustainable housing are energy and environmental load reduction, construction cost and local code/regulations. And the most important key point of sustainable housing design criteria is that eco-system and building design should be integrated. |
