Abstract |
This study was conducted to correctly understand the future design expression method by analyzing the 'viewing process' used by contemporary architects through expression viewpoints that are inherent in modern architectural drawings. For this study, the visual information and the meaning of architecture constructed by architects were interpreted, and the viewpoints assigned to architectural drawings were established to process the visual information. The purpose of this study is to present the characteristics of viewpoint change applied to a design process by classifying the expression viewpoints used by contemporary architects into the viewpoint generation processing and the viewpoint change processing. The viewpoint transformation which is shown by the viewpoint generation processing, is analyzed by (1) the method that a designer processes a viewpoint and by (2) the method of relative viewpoint processing between the visual informations. The former shows a viewpoint change system of the form exploration process that voluntarily distorts and expands forms. The latter shows the varied form transformation through the moving viewpoint applied to multiple vanishing points. This expression system seems to focus on the process of communication, rather than simple expression. The viewpoint transformation which is shown in the process of viewpoint change, has the characteristics of projecting or replacing forms through the expression methods, such as the viewpoint projection, reverse projection, reverse direction, and rotation; and has the characteristics of continuous change in a panoramic mode. |
