Abstract |
Epoxy-coated reinforcing bars have been widely used because of their superior resistance to corrosion in order to prevent the corrosion of reinforcing bars. However, the coated bars whose coating thickness is thinner than 250㎛ do not have a proper balance between performance and cost, and do not meet the requirement of specification. Organic polymer dispersions(latexes or emulsions) have been developed and commercialized for cement modifiers, and cement composites materials using the polymer dispersions have been widely studied containing coating of reinforcing bar for field of construction work all over the world. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the viscosity and flow of polymer cement slurry for the anti-corrosion of steel. From the test results, the viscosity of polymer cement slurry is a little decreased by using fly ash. However, this tendency is considerably effected by polymer-binder ratio and water-binder ratio. The flow of polymer cement slurry is a little improved according to increasing of fly ash content to 20%, but decrease in increase in silica fume content. It is apparent that the choice of types of polymer, mix proportions and admixtures is important to improve the workability of polymer cement slurry for coating of steels. And it is better to improve the bonding performance between steel and cement concrete. |
