Abstract |
Since the end of the 1990s, an increasing number of mass buildings has been associated with turnkey-based bidding system in domestic public sector. Thus, this system has acted a significant role in architectural culture. However, most of architectural practice related to the turnkey-based approach has been focused on its facial and aesthetic aspects, and, in the field of academic research, most literature has been mainly concentrated on its bidding or evaluation system. In order to overcome the limitation of the design approach which is merely connected to the formative aspects, this research explores the effective models of design processes, namely ‘standard model’ and ‘process model.’ Elucidating a contemporary communication theory, this study aims to contribute to the improvement of rational and competitive design processes in terms of turnkey-based design approach. To achieve this aim, with quantitative methodology as well as its qualitative interpretation, questionnaire technique is employed. |
