Abstract |
The aim of this study is to analyze a solar access quantity of roof and facade in apartment buildings to establish a optimal application strategy at renewable energy system such as building integrated photovoltaic or solar thermal system. Each apartment building facade is divided into 164 grids and annual total insolation on each grid is calculated with hourly weather data by considering the shading effect of adjacent buildings. 4 different arrangement types(ㅡ form, alternative ㅡ form, ㄱ form and ㅁ form) and building orientation are investigated to evaluate solar access at each facade. Results show that annual total insolation of roof is 2,987 kWh/㎡.yr and the highest insolation value among the building facade grids is about 1,657kWh/㎡. Various solar distribution pattern images on facade area are presented to evaluate solar access performance comparatively depending on arrangement types and the orientation. The most efficient arrangement type for solar access is ㅡ form followed by alternative ㅡ form, ㄱ form and ㅁ form in order. |
