Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to examine the difference of the along-wind and across-wind responses of rectangular buildings according to varying aspect ratio under wind actions. High Frequency Force Balance(HFFB) test was conducted on using elastic model of rectangular square section with 5 types of aspect ratio in turbulent boundary layer flows. Building responses were estimated by Spectral Modal Analysis based on the values, such as fluctuating moment coefficient and power spectral density, acquired by the HFFB test. Finally, wind force responses of along-wind direction were compared to those of across-wind direction and the difference of the two are pointed out. From the results, it is known that the dynamic responses of across wind direction are larger than those of along wind direction as the aspect ratio is larger. |
