Abstract As「Construction Supervision」 means supervision and management, the 「Certified Architects Act」 define 「Construction Supervision」 as checking if buildings are constructed as design document, instructing and supervising quality management·construction management·safety management etc, as a result「Construction Supervisory Business」is understood as an extension of design document and following construction management.「Construction Supervision」 began by the「Certified Architects Act」 in 1962 and the system has been modified following multiple major construction calamities such as Wau Apartments collapse in 1970, a conflagration in the Independence Hall of Korea in 1986, and collapses of Seongsu Grand Bridge and Sampoong Department Store in 1990. In spite of the importance of 「Construction Supervision」has been seriously recognized, yet 「Construction Supervision」still remains complex and confusing at the present time. It is because the system was artificially made as a quick response to the social circumstances and public opinions on incidents instead of being established as a means of analysis on fundamental causes for the problems in 「Construction Supervision」. Consequently, the system of Architectural Construction Supervision has not been improved enough to be effectively administered. Hence the study aims to seek reasonable and systematic improvement in the system of 「Construction Supervision」by investigating the division of roles and works for construction related personnel and cases of architecturally advanced countries instead of simply blaming construction supervisors for the problems in 「Construction Supervision」.
