Abstract This paper intend to investigate spalling prevention of high performance concrete incorporating hybrid organic fiber subjected to fire. According to previous research conducted by the authors, it was found that the use of nylon fiber (NY) and polypropylene fiber (PP) at the same time resulted in better performance in spalling prevention. The experimental parameters were combinations of length and contents. Ahead, on the fresh concrete, All of the changing fiber contents and ratios satisfied 650±100 mm on slump flow and 3.0±1.0 % on air content, and there was no remarkable tendency on the compressive tensile and strength. The spalling properties after fire resistance examination according to standard heating curve at KS F 2257-1 for 1 hour, the aspect ratio of fiber was related to spalling prevention, and 0.03 vol.% of NY+PP fiber which had 613 as aspect ratio was the best condition for spalling prevention. In conclusion, the method of mixture with NY and PP fibers could effectively prevent the spalling with a small amount compared with the other fibers. Moreover, it was favorable for the workability and economy.
