Abstract This paper is to provide experimental results of the effect of lime stone coarse aggregate(LSCA) on the engineering properties of concrete. Water to binder ratio(W/C) and aggregate kinds are varied. According to the results, the use of LSCA results in an improvement of slump and slump flow compared with those using basalt aggregate by as much as 10~20%, while air content shows declining tendency due to the effect of improved grain shape of LSCA. Increased slump in LSCA concrete leads to enhance the bleeding water and setting time is somewhat accelerated. For hardened concrete, compressive strength of the concrete is not affected by aggregate kinds significantly. For durability, the use of LSCA results in an reduction of drying shrinkage by as much as 30%. There is no remarkable difference of frost damage and carbonation according to aggregate kinds.
